I've been asked a lot of interesting questions in my short life. I love questions. I uses to always want to have the right answers to all the questions I was ever asked. Then, half way thought college I realized it's much more fun to give a funny answer first and then give the right answer because I like to make people laugh more than I like to intimidate people with how much I might know. And then, very recently, I found that the questions get harder and harder and sometime there are no right answers and sometimes there are no wrong answers so giving a funny answer first gives you time to think of a sufficient answer for the time being.
Sent in from a friend in Indiana, this is the question of the week:
"Do you spend much time, if at all, thinking about what's coming next?"
My first, and hopefully funny, answer is this, "Only when I'm at a dinner party where I get a complete meal that I didn't order from a menu."
My real answer starts like this:
Sometimes I'm having a bad day where nothing seems to be going right, and I think, "What in the world could be coming next?"
Sometimes I'm having a really good day with lost of surprises, and I think, "I wonder if there's anything else?"
And then, there are those moments in life when I know there is something coming. Something big is right around the corner. I can feel it. I don't always know what to do about it, and I never know what it's going to be. But when it finally comes, I know that's what it is, and this is what I need to do.
So, I ask you, "Do you spend much time, if at all, thinking about what's coming next?"
Obviously, the answer to that question for me is, "yes."

This is the problem with my life! I have no idea what is coming next and it scares me to death!
People always seem to have a sixth sense when anticipation is involved, 99% of the time when we figure out something big is coming, it tends to be something good.
I think it's human nature to wonder what's coming next. Always looking ahead!
Then I found a rather profound thought by none other than Bill Watterson (which I read in a Calvin and Hobbes comic; that little boy Calvin really can be quite deep!) It goes like this: "Sometimes it seems things go by too quickly. We are so busy watching out for what's just ahead of us that we don't take the time to enjoy where we are."
This really got me thinking; I don't think there's anything really wrong with wondering what's coming next, but sometimes I get too preoccupied with it that I seem to be letting my life pass me by without enjoying it to the fullest.
This is all. (Sorry for the freakishly long comment!)
Wow. And yes, it was funny. I was quite amused. Thank you for the thoughtful answer. I'm not sure why I asked you that question, other than my curiosity as to whether or not people are like me. Thankfully, the answer to that question is in the affirmative. I definitely feel something big is on the horizon... I just hope it's good!
